Book Reviews
Those of you who know me know that I read A LOT. TOO MUCH actually but what can I say I love books. So I am going to start posting about the books that I have read for all of the other book worms out there.
To begin with, since Christmas I have read the first 4 of the Fablehaven series. I had heard rave reviews for these books. I am not really into Fantasy books, but everyone kept telling me how good these books were. I think that these books get better and better the further you get into the series. I have not read book 5 yet because Jon took over my Kindle to read the series. He likes it a lot too. It was pretty funny though because when we talked about book 4 we both mentioned how they spend a lot of time on all of these preserves and never have to go to the bathroom. I guess that is how most books are though right? The author does a good job with character development and does a good job of tying everything in in each book. So far I don't feel like there are any gaps or things that have been left out. I would recommend it if you have not read it yet.

A Personal Post (Feel Free to Skip This One)
In less than one week my baby girl will be 2 years old. As I look back I can't help but remember that two years ago today I was sitting in a hospital bed passing the time reading books and watching a lot of the Food Network. It is sad but true that two years ago when we brought Lydia home from the hospital I weighed almost exactly the same as I do today.
In the two years since her birth, my weight has gone up and down staying in a 10 pound range. Originally I made a new years resolution to lose 40 pounds this year. In the last two weeks I have become frustrated with trying to lose the weight. I have found that focusing on counting calories stresses me out and causes me to eat more.
So, my new goal is to be healthy and fit regardless of the number on the scale. In fact, I might just have to stop weighing myself all together.
In order to reach this goal I am going to be running the Famous Idaho Potato Half Marathon in May. I ran this same half marathon almost 3 years ago and I know that I can do it again. I had plans of doing it last year but never really committed. This year I am doing it even if I have to walk all 13.1 miles.
I have never felt so healthy as I did 3 years ago when I was running regularly and I want to feel that way again.
I also have a bit of a sugar problem. That might be an understatement. It is a huge problem. I wish that they had SAA (sugar addicts annonymous). So in order to help minimize my sugar intake, I have decided to give up soda. I don't drink soda everyday but I would say that I drink it at least 4 times a week which is too much.
The reason that I am blogging all of this is so that I will commit to my training. I need to do this for myself.
So there it is.

Caught Up and Some News
So I have now posted all of our pictures from the month of December. The holidays were pretty busy and crazy for us and we are looking forward to a few quiet weeks before the birthday bash begins. With two birthdays 6 days apart I am trying to decide on birthday cakes and such with the kids and I need to get on to making their birthday shirts.
Now for the news. No, I am NOT pregnant nor do I plan to become so in 2011. Jon and I put an offer in on a house. We were not planning on moving anytime soon but there was a short sale in the area that was too good to pass up. Nothing is final yet but we should know within the next couple of weeks. It is bigger than our current house, with a three car garage and a bigger lot. We will let you all know as soon as we do. Feel free to call if you want any of the particulars.

The Drive Home From Utah
The drive home took us about 8 hours. The roads were all pretty icy up until we reached the I-84 interchange. Gabe actually slept in the car which was a miracle. Jon and I couldn't help but laugh and feel sorry for him as his little head bobbed from side to side. Needless to say we watched lots of movies on the drive home and Lydia was not super crabby until the last hour or two.
Erin, Kerry, Tom, and BABY Joe
We took a trip down to Utah on the 27th for Jon's Uncle's 60th B-day Party. Most of the trip we were all crabby, grouchy, and overtired. We did get a chance to see Kerry and meet baby Joe, aka the happiest baby alive. He was super smiley and happy, much happier than Jon, or I, or our kids. Thanks to Tom's sister for letting us visit at her house. We also made a trip to Ikea with them which was more fun in theory than actuality.
