Slip and Slide Time!
My kids love the water. They would literallly stay in the tub ALL DAY LONG if I let them. Summer around here involves lots of playing in the water and they both L-O-V-E the slip and slide.

Lydia LOVES to climb. She climbs bookshelves, dressers, pretty much anything and everything. This is her on top of the hose holder.

Fort
It has been a cold and wet spring and start of summer. One day when it was cold and rainy we stayed inside and made a little fort. The kids loved it! I loved it too because it kept them entertained for a little while!

Our New Piano
Since we moved into our new house I have been looking for a piano. We have gone to see a few and I have been a little disappointed with them. Yesterday we decided to go and take a look at this one. It was posted on Craigslist for $140 So I was expecting it to need some work compared to the other pianos that we had looked at. All of the keys are in really good shape and it plays nicely. None of the keys stick. Everything on it works well. It needs to be tuned and probably would play a lot better if we replaced some of the felt on the inside, but that is what you would expect from a piano that is about 100 years old right? I am so EXCITED about this find! Isn't it beautiful? We have already had a hard time keeping the kids off of it but I am hoping that the novelty of it will wear off soon.

Bounce
Took the kids to a place here with lots of bouncey castles and an obstacle course etc. They loved it and had so much fun!
Famous Idaho Potato 1/2 marathon
This happened way back in May. My sister convinced me to walk the Famous Idaho 1/2 marathon with her. I was crazy to tell her yes but I did it and in only took about 3 1/2 hours!

Strawberry Snatcher
The last few months since we moved into our new house we have been working on our landscaping. The first thing that we did was put in some garden boxes. We have 10 boxes. One for Raspberries, one for Blackberries, one for Strawberries and the rest are for veggies, tomatoes, carrots, beets, corn, squash, beans, etc.
We started getting strawberries on our plants about a month ago. Recently I have gone out to check for ripe ones. There have been a few that look like they will be ready in the next couple of days. Every time I go back out to check on them they are gone. I asked Gabe and Lydia if they were eating them. Gabe Quickly put the blame on his little sister. Lydia not knowing any better admitted to it. Although I still had some suspicions about her going and picking the berries. I thought it was a joint venture between the two of them.
Yesterday we discovered the real thief. BRIDGETT the dog!
Jon went out to plant an apple tree and there she was in the box snarfing down the goods. We really need to get a fence up around our garden area if we are going to enjoy any of our strawberries! But really, a dog that eats strawberries! Crazy!

Questions
Why is the sky blue?
This is the question that Gabe asked randomly while we were driving in the car yesterday. My answer went something like this...
Me: "Well the earth has its own atmosphere. Once you get out of the atmosphere you are out in space and something with reflecting or something...Outerspace is dark...blah blah blah...(Make up what I can remember from science class.)"
Gabe: "So the sky is blue because of the atmosphere?"
Me: "Sure. That sounds about right."
I think that I am going to have to brush up on some of my science knowledge for this kid!
