One of those things I know I will miss

For some reason Gabe likes to play in our pantry. I am not sure why. He just thinks it is loads of fun. It probably has something to do with the fact that there are tons of cans right at his level.

Today I rearranged the pantry a little bit so that it is more organized. When I was finished Gabe quickly went in to check it out. I was making yummy peanut butter banana ice cream. When I asked him what he was doing he said, "I'm just building a tower mommy." I looked over to see that all the cans I had just put on the shelf were being built into a tower. Although I was a little annoyed that I had to rearrange the cans all over again, I know that it is something I will miss when he gets older. He us just too cute!

One Year Ago

It was a year ago today that I ran my first 1/2 marathon. I was in such good shape! I can't even run 3 miles now. I guess that is what pregnancy and about 5 months of bedrest will do to you! I want to start running again and am planning on doing another 1/2 marathon within the next year. I would also like to run some 5K and 10K races. Hopefully I can get back on track soon and get back into shape!

Crabby Gabe, Suggestions welcome

As I posted earlier we got rid of the Binky. It has been a few weeks now. Gabe is still not sleeping well. He no longer asks for the Binky. He just doesn't sleep well. He has also stopped napping. He used to nap for a couple hours a day and for 10-12 hours at night, a total of 12-14 hours per day. Since we "pulled the plug" he has been averaging maybe 8 hours or less per night. This makes for a very cranky 2 year old.

We have tried the Super Nanny technique of just putting him back to bed. This works except for the fact that he will wake up at 4am and come into our room crying and wake up Lydia. She is sleeping more than he is at night. There is just something that isn't right about that.

He has never been a great sleeper. When he was little Jon had to mummy wrap him to get him to sleep. When that stopped working we started playing music. When that no longer worked he still had his Binky so he would give up pretty easily. Now we are all out of ideas. I have thought about just giving him Benadryl. I have not tried it but it might just be a last resort. PLEASE HELP US! We are desperate!

Breakfast

This morning we woke up. Both kids were in the bed with us. We told Gabe to go downstairs and get us breakfast. He went downstairs and rummaged through the pantry for about 5-10 minutes. This is what he brought back up to us. I am glad that he doesn't know how to use the can opener!

I only download pictures once a month.

There are a lot of new posts with pictures. I dont like to download pictures more than once a month. I am sure that some of you have noticed this. Maybe I am lazy, but, I like to think that it helps me keep them all a little more organized. There are a lot of posts from April. For those of you who may have checked this yesterday scroll down. There are new posts below the Shoshone Falls post. This is because I messed up. :)

Shoshone Falls

Posted by PicasaLast Saturday we decided to get out of town and take a short day trip to Twin Falls. The water level at Shoshone Falls was really high. As you can see from our hair it was quite windy.

More Shoshone Falls

We got some pretty funny video of Gabe at the Falls. There were a bunch of kids rolling down the grass hills. Gabe thought that it looked fun so he decided to start rolling too. He didnt understand the whole rolling down the hill concept and was trying to roll up the hills. It was pretty cute.

Trip to the park

Every spring I love going to the park to see all of the new baby birds. We took the kids and our awesome stroller. I think we were a little early for most of the babies but we got to see some. There were also a few Geese sitting on nests. We took Gabe back to the park yesterday and there were even more goslings. There was a group of 20-30. I forgot the camera in the car so I dont have any pics. It was a lot of fun.

More Easter Dinner

Easter Dinner

We had Easter Dinner at my parents house. We decided that we needed to get some pictures of the kids because I forgot to take pictures Easter morning.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Saturday before Easter my sister invited us to go downtown to and Easter Egg Hunt that her office puts on every year. It was the first time that we have taken Gabe to an Egg Hunt. We got there a little early and Gabe had a hard time understanding why we were all standing around. He really wanted to go and collect eggs! Once things got started he didnt end up with very many eggs. Everytime he got an egg he would open it and take out the candy before looking for more. He did not like the Easter Bunny. He wouldn't look at her.
