Lydia's First Steps
I just thought that I would let everyone know that Lydia took her first steps on Firday March 19, 2010. Jon took the kids to the park and she took 3 steps. I missed her first steps but she took 3 more later that night. She hasn't tried to walk since but at least now I know she can do it whenever she decides it is time!

Lyida's First words
Lydia has been saying Mama and Dada for awhile now. She will say Hi sometimes. She shakes her head no A LOT even when she means yes. But yesterday she said what I think is her first real word... BOOK. She said it twice in the morning while I was getting Gabe ready for church. I thought that is might be a fluke. But, later, we were all in Gabe's room again and she said it again. Jon heard her say it later when he was talking with her and she was playing with a book. I am so happy! Maybe she will be a bookworm like her mommy!

Tagged 10 Things
My good friend Kerry Tagged me and now I have to write 10 things about Jon and I.
I have to preface this by saying that if it wasn't Kerry who tagged me I probably wouldn't be doing this.
1. Jon and I met in October of 2003. He was friends with Matt Luke who I met through Ethan Hawkley and we were all in the student ward together. The same day that I met him I went out with a group to go bowling. I told Ethan afterwards that I had a good feeling about him. Turns out I was right about it!
2. Next Thursday is a special day for us. It was 5 years ago on that day that Jon officially proposed. 3 years ago on that day was Gabe's blessing day. AND, It is my awesome Mom's Birthday! It makes it easy to remember!
3. One of our favorite things to do at night after the kids are asleep is watch tv shows on Netflix. We have watched all of Heros, Quantum Leap, and Pushing Daisies this way. I am sure that we could be more productive with this time, but we like being able to just sit next to each other and cuddle.
4. When we were dating we used to read books together a lot. Since we have been married we haven't read as much together. We did have to read the last Harry Potter book together because we both wanted to read it so bad.
5. I am the chef in the family. But, Jon has one specialty, Pepper Pasta. Thanks to Matt and Kellie.
6. We really enjoy going on bike rides together. We are excited that Lydia is big enough for the trailer and look forward to going for a lot of rides this summer.
7. Jon loves computer games and I love reading blogs. We both waste a lot of time on the computer
8. We both like eating out. We usually go out to lunch together once a week.
9. Jon was born in Boise and I am pretty sure that we will both die here. Jon is a real homebody and has no real desire to move anywhere else. Afer living here for the last 9 years I love it here too.
10. I am so lucky to have Jon. He is a wonderful man and I couldn't have asked for a better husband! Jon is so lucky to have me!;) There are times when I don't know how he would ever do it without me and vice versa.

What Have I Been Up To?
So the last two posts are what I have been up to lately. The first of the two is the Rolie Polie. I got the pattern from a blog, http://www.dana-made-it.com/. I love this blog! She always has such cute ideas. My kids L-O-V-E this thing. It has definitely helped us get through the last little bit of winter.
The second of the two posts I found a tutorial for over at http://makeitandloveit.blogspot.com/ This is another great blog with great ideas. I used to have one of these crayon rolls when I was a kid and loved having it. these two are for our Church/Sunday bag. I think that they will be great for Sacrament meeting and for our Primary class.

Welcome Home Uncle Spencer!
My lil brother got home from his mission on February 10th. We were all excited to have him home. My kids were both pretty shy around him at first but seem to have warmed up nicely. (the first two pictures are of Lydia picking her nose at the airport.)

Winter Carnival Part 3
The first week in February they always have a Winter Carnival up in McCall. We decided to go up for the weekend. We drove up to Cascade on Friday afternoon and stayed at the Ashley Inn. Then we spent Saturday at the Carnival. Gabe got to ride a few rides and we saw all of the fun snow sculptures. There were a few that had fun slides for the kids. We met up with Jeremy and Camille in McCall and had lunch together. Gabe loved playing with his cousins. Our favorite sculpture was the Smokey The Bear boat and the porcupine. It was a great weekend and fun little get away.
