Easter Dinner

We had Easter Dinner at my parents house. We decided that we needed to get some pictures of the kids because I forgot to take pictures Easter morning.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Saturday before Easter my sister invited us to go downtown to and Easter Egg Hunt that her office puts on every year. It was the first time that we have taken Gabe to an Egg Hunt. We got there a little early and Gabe had a hard time understanding why we were all standing around. He really wanted to go and collect eggs! Once things got started he didnt end up with very many eggs. Everytime he got an egg he would open it and take out the candy before looking for more. He did not like the Easter Bunny. He wouldn't look at her.

Right Now

Right now I am sitting at my computer. My baby girl is fast asleep in her swing(her favorite place to be). Gabe is in his highchair throwing his breakfast dishes on the floor. I am pretending that there is nothing going on in the other room.

We had an adventurous night last night. Gabe woke up at 4 am crying and screaming. When Jon brought him into our room he woke up Lydia. So, they were both in our bed from that point on. Needless to say, I am still tired. Hopefully Gabe will nap today! I am also really glad that Jon talked me into getting a King sized bed when we got married!

I don't do ants.

Yesterday was full of bugs.

It all started when a bee flew in through the open back door. Thankfully we were able to kindly escort it out of the house with no further incidence.

Then, as I was cleaning the laundry room I saw an ant. I killed it immediately. I don't do ants. If they are outside they will live, but, inside they must die. As I continued cleaning I discovered that there were quite a few ants coming in through the wall in the laundry room. I immediately called Jon. I told him that he had to come home for lunch and spray for bugs. I continued to check where the ants were coming in. Armed with the vacuum I sucked a few up every 10-15 minutes. Thankfully Jon sprayed and there were no further problems.

Later I was cleaning and there was a big fat hairy spider climbing up the window. It was outside but spiders inside or out don't stand a chance against me. I went out with Gabe and we sprayed it with the hose and smashed it with a shoe. The rest of the day Gabe kept talking about how we killed that spider.

side note:
When I was growing up we always got ants. Every spring they would come up through cracks in the cement in our laundry room area. I HATED them.

We did it!

Yesterday was a historic day. We decided that the Binky was history. (At least in Gabe's case. We will give Lydia a least another year.) I put Gabe down as usual. Instead of sleeping he played in his room, broke his lamp, and took pictures off the wall. When we went to get him up I decided that it was time. I am no longer going to put him down for naps. I know, I know, I am very brave. And, since we haven't actually tried this whole no nap thing out, it might not last. But, I do think it is time. When I had this realizations I also decided that if he is old enough to stop taking regular naps, it is time to ditch the Binky too.

We tried to get rid of the Binky last summer. We went almost 2 weeks without it. Then we went on vacation. The first night camping, he cried all night long. This is when we decided that it would be better for us and our fellow campers if we went to the store and bought a Binky. Since then he only gets them when he is sleeping.

Last night he didn't want to go to bed. I was ready to give up. My wonderful husband, who is much tougher than me, said no way. He went up and had a little chat with Gabe. When Gabe realized that he wasn't getting a Binky he gave up and asked if he could sleep with his Jeep instead. So that is what he did, there was no more crying and he fell fast asleep.

We will have to see what tonight brings.

Lydia's Blessing

We blessed on Sunday, March 22nd. Jon did a great job. My aunt helped my make Lydia's dress. I also made her little headband. I think that it all turned out great.

My dear Gabriel

This is what Gabe's hands looked like after he found my scrapbooking ink pads this morning. Permanent Acid free ink is awesome for scrapbooking, not so awesome for 2 year olds hands.
