Quote of the Day

This morning we were reading books. When I told Gabe that I was done reading he threw a HUGE fit. He got so upset that in the end he yelled at me, "I'm tired of you messing up my life!"

I thought that he was 3. Aren't they suppose to be at least 13 before they start telling you this kind of stuff?

1 and 3 year check ups

One nice thing about having Gabe and Lydia's Birthdays in the same week is that we can take them to their check ups together! We get to kill two birds with one stone. So, here are their stats.

Lydia-20 lbs.-32%
height-31 inches-93%

She is tall and skinny, and always has been. Hopefully that trend will continue as she gets older.;)

Gabe- 39lbs.-96%
height-39 inches-85%

He has always been around the same percentages for both height and weight.

The first thing that Gabe said when Dr. Hammer walked in was, "I dont want a shot."
I guess that is pretty common for kids with younger siblings. He only had to get one shot though so it wasn't too bad. I did have to listen to him for the next half hour saying, "I DIDN'T WANT a SHOT mommy!" I think that he is over it now though. I am pretty sure that he forgave them for the shot as soon as they gave him a sucker and sticker. It took him a little longer to forgive me.

Lydia did really well. She didn't even cry when they pricked her finger to check her iron levels. She was not thrilled about the shots either.

Overall they are both healthy and happy and doing well. We are so grateful for two healthy kids.

Happy Birthday Gabe

 

Three years ago today my little Gabey Baby was born. He is definitely my challenge in life most days, but I don't know what I would do without him! He has been potty training for about threes weeks now and doing really well. Hopefully we will be completely accident free within the next few weeks. He is turning from baby to big boy. I would have added pictures of him as a newborn but for some reason I cant find where they are on this computer.

It is hard to believe that one year ago I woke up in the hospital not knowing that it would be my last day on the Antepardum unit. Our little Lydi Lou is growing so fast! A big Happy Birthday to her! We are so glad to have her in our family!

Potty training and Beer.

Potty training is going pretty well. Gabe pooped on the potty yesterday and today and I am hoping that within the next week or so he will really get it down. We are crossing our fingers and we'll see.

On a side note, Jon went snowboarding last night and since Gabe pooped on the potty I went to KFC and let him get a meal and Root Beer. We went through the drive through. As we were pulling away, Gabe asked, "Can I have my beer now?" So funny! It is not the first time that he has done this. It just cracks me up. I am just glad he has never said it in public!

Adventures in Potty Training!

Last Thursday we started potty training Gabe. It is official. I will not be turning back. So far it is going pretty well. As long as I make sure he goes every hour or so we dont have accidents. The one exception is pooping. He has pooped on the potty before. But, not since we started potty training again. Any ideas? He always realizes that he has to go after he has gone. I am just not sure how to catch him before hand.
