Birds of Prey Center

A couple of weeks ago Gabe's preschool teacher was sick and had to cancel school for the day. I thought that it would be a good opportunity to take the kids and check out the Birds of Prey Center. I had never been before. The kids loved it and had a lot of fun. They really enjoyed the show that we went to. They brought out a Krestral that flew over our heads. Gabe kept asking if he could hold it. It wasn't quite as little kid friendly as I thought that it would be but We still had a lot of fun. I think that we will enjoy it more when our kiddos get a little bit older. We loved seeing the California Condors and there were lot of little ground squirrels that the kids liked to watch.

I took the kids to the Zoo over spring break. It was the busiest that I have ever seen the Zoo but the kids had a lot of fun. We fed the giraffes again and they loved that. It was the nicest day of the year so far. I am sure that it wont be our last trip this year.

My latest big project

So this is my latest big project times 2. I bought these two chairs off of craigslist awhile back and decided I was going to reupholster them. It is taking longer than I thought it would to get them finished but they are coming along nicely. I will post after pictures when I finish. They are going to be AMAZING!
p.s. this is my first time reupholstering and it is really a lot of fun. I just wish that I had a whole day to sit and finish them up without interruptions.:)

Gabe with Grandpa at Pizza Planet

We go out to luch with Jon usually once a week. Gabe's favorite place to go is a pizza buffet close by. We like taking the kids there too because we can feed them both for $3. Gabe recently discovered arcade games. Anytime we are anywhere that has games he asks for quarters. I don't usually carry change around with me so he has to ask for donations from other people. Grandpa and Aunts are always willing to give him a few coins. I loved this picture of him with his grandpa. It was too precious! I am so glad I had my camera with me!

A post to show Lydia eats meat!

Lydia has been a vegetarian for most of her life with the exception of milk and yogurt. We always try to experiment with her and get her to at least try a little bit of pork chops, chicken or fish, whatever we are eating at dinner. she will not eat cheese and up until recently wouldn't even touch mac and cheese. Awhile back costco had a coupon for their pre-packaged ribs. I always buy them when they send out coupons for them. We cooked them up for dinner one night and gave Lydia a small bite to taste. She loved them! She asked for more and by the time dinner was over she had had 3 ribs! We got a cute little video too but I am not sure how to post that.

A Few Old Projects

As I was packing I decided to take a few pictures of some old projects that I never posted about. The first one is our calendar/to do board. I had seen these as plain dry erase boards on a few other blogs and decided to make a calendar for the kitchen with a dry erase to do list and grocery list. i also use is for our meal planning.

The other project I made awhile back is a fishing set for the kids to play with. They really enjoy it. I need to make up some more fish for it. I am thinking of making some of every color to help Lydia learn her colors.
